SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Can restaurant menus be made in leather or fabric?

  • Yes!
You can make a menu out of most materials, although it may be an advantage not to use materials that are difficult to wash or that absorb dirt as menus are quite vulnerable to food and spillages.

  • How to order menus in different formats - A4, landscape etc.?

  • There are ready-made templates for standard formats such as A5, A4 and also for note holders. You can get your menu in exactly the format you want and the process is the same:

    • You contact one of our project managers and tell them what you are looking for.
    • We will provide you with templates to place your artwork in, or we can help you with that. Read more on the link below.
  • How are menus sealed/protected against dirt and spillages?

  • We usually recommend materials that can be wiped off / withstand moisture. If you want a printed item on your menu, it should be laminated with plastic film to protect the print, both inside and out. The material should be scratch-resistant and also withstand fingerprints as it is exposed to both food and hands.

  • What effect techniques (e.g. embossing, foil) work well for menus?

  • Effects that are well suited to a menu are:

    • screen printing
    • foil stamping
    • blind embossing
    • labels

To consider: Effects that dirt can get stuck in should be avoided (depending on how the menu will be used) e.g. embroidery, embossing. A menu is exposed to a lot of dirt and spills and can quickly look worn/dirty if residue gets stuck to the surface of the menu.
